16 arrested so far in Chandrasekharan murder case


Saturday, May 26, 2012: As many as 16 persons have been arrested so far in connection with the sensational murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan near Onchiyam on May 4.
Two more persons, including a CPI-M functionary, who allegedly had links with an assailant involved in the murder case have been arrested, police said here.
The arrested are P P Ramakrishnan, Thalassery Area Committee member and one Abhijith of Kannur, who allegedly had links with Sijith who was arrested from Mysore recently, they said.
Sijith is an accomplice of N K Sunil Kumar, prime accused in the Chandrasekharan murder case.
C H Asokhan, Onchiyam CPI(M) area committee secretary and K K Krishnan, Committee member, were arrested yesterday in connection with the murder.
Chandrasekharan (50), a former CPI-M leader from the party stronghold of Onchiyam in Kozhikode district, was murdered at Vallikkad near Vatakara on May 4.
He was expelled a few years ago after falling out with the CPI-M leadership. He later floated Revolutionary Marxist Party.
