Arrested CPM leaders sent to police custody in TP murder case


KOZHIKODE: The two CPM leaders arrested Thursday morning in connection with the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan were sent to police custody by the Vadakara Magistrate Court.


The two arrested were CH Ashokan, Onchiyam area secretary and former state general secretary of NGO union and area committee member K K Krishnan. The two were sent to police custody till June 7. Their arrest was recorded after calling them for interrogation yesterday.


They were charged for involving in the murder of TP.


The accused were brought to the court under tight security. Elamaram Karim MLA and Kozhikode district committee secretary T P Ramakrishnan arrived at the SP office after the arrest of Ashokan.


A large crowd was seen in the premises of the court when the two was brought there and the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse them.
A scuffle broke out when the CPM activists tried to attack the media when they tried to capture the photos of the accused in the court.
