BJP candidate O Rajagopal files nomination

Wednesday, May 16, 2012: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate O. Rajagopal today filed his nomination papers for the forthcoming June 2nd by-election to the Neyyattinkara assembly constituency.
Filing his papers before the Peringadavila block development officer, Rajagopal declared that he possessed bank balance worth about Rs 11,89,945. The veteran leader was accompanied by BJP state president V Muraleedharan, A.N Radhakrishnan and Sobha Surednran.
Meanwhile UDF candidate R. Selvaraj filed his nomination before the Vigilance deputy Director in Thiruvananthapuram collectorate. Selvaraj declared that he possessed property and cash worth about Rs 49,77,156.
As per the affidavit filed by Selvaraj, he has Rs 14,000 cash and property worth over Rs 6,24,626, while his wife possesses property worth Rs 38,17,333, official sources said here.
LDF candidate F. Lawrence, filed his nomination papers on Thursday. As per the affidavit filed along with the nomination, he and members of his family, have assets worth `31.2 lakh.
