Charge sheet field in Italian marines case

KOLLAM: The police filed a charge sheet against the two Italian marines for shooting two Indian fishermen. The charge sheet was filed at the Kollam Chief Judicial Magistrate accusing the two Italians identified as Latorre Massimillano and Salvatore Gironewere, arrested in the case. The charge sheet was filed after the two completed 90 days of arrest.


Meantime, the Kollam Principal Sessions Court will pronounce the verdict on the bail pleas of the two remanded. The counsel who appeared for the two informed the court that the Italy government was ready to produce the two before the court and investigating officials as and when required. But the prosecution strongly opposed the bail plea.
