Culprit identified as Sanoj Kumar


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Krishna Prasad Pathukandam, who was accused of cheating several Indians in the UAE and used a fake passport to fly to Sharjah, has now been identified as Sanoj Kumar from Alappuzha district.
Salam Pappinisseri from United Advocates, Sharjah, said that Sanoj Kumar hails from Harippad Kanjirappally Erikkavu. He is the son of Moolayil Veettil Chellappan and Vijayamma.  The fake passport contains the name Krishna Prasad from Kasargod. He is one of the accused in a chain which creates bogus companies and transferring works from his employer’s firm.
He used several fake passports and addresses to cheat people in the UAE. Sanoj Kumar could not be traced as his original address is not known to anyone.  He managed a passport from Kozhikode in the name of Krishna Prasad citing that he had lost it. On inquiry, it has been revealed that there is no person in the name of Krishna Prasad as mentioned in the passport.
Sanoj Kumar was working in a diesel company owned by an Arab businessman in the fake name Krishna Prasad when he allegedly created a bogus company under his name and transferred work contracts to it from his employer’s firm. He then obtained a loan of Rs 2.5 crore in the name of his formal employers and returned to India.  A UAE court had also sentenced him in absence to three years jail in one of the cases he was involved in. More cases of cheating are now being reported to the United Advocates firm.
