Murder of RMP leader: Investigating team expanded

KOZHIKODE: The investigating team probing the murder of Revolutionary Marxist party leader T P Chandrasekharan in Onchiyam, has been expanded. The team has been expanded by including former Kannur SP Anoop Kuruvila John, three DySPs and a circle inspector. Anoop Kuruvila John will head the team and ADGP Winson M Paul will supervise the investigation.


Kannur DySP K V Santhosh, Thalassery DySP P Shoukat Ali and Thamarassery DySP Josy Cherian and circle inspector Benny are the persons included in the team.


Five persons have been taken into custody in connection with the murder. The police have found that a seven member team led by one Rafeeq of Palloor committed the crime.


The police have taken into custody a native of Chokli identified as Harris, who rented the Innovar Car used by the miscreants, car owner Naveen Das and his brother in law Rijesh were among the five taken into custody. The names of the other two persons have not been revealed.
