RMP leader’s murder a well-planned conspiracy: DGP

Saturday, May 05, 2012: DGP Jacob Punnouse today informed that the gruesome murder of the Revolutionary Marxist party leader T.P. Chandrasekharan yesterday night was a well-planned conspiracy by a group of miscreants.
Addressing the pressperson here on Saturday, DGP added that Chandrasekharan faced severe threats to his life from various quarters. However the RMP leaders alleged that CPI(M) workers were behind the murder. The party had even thought of giving him security, but he rejected it, they said.
Meanwhile the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the gruesome murder case, today took into custody the car in which the assassins apparently fled after the incident.
The Innova car bearing the registration number plate KL-58-D-8144 was found abandoned near a small ground. The car owned by KP Naveen Das was taken on rental basis on Friday night, police told.
In a shocking incident in the Kozhikode district of Kerala, Chandrasekharan, who was expelled from the party a few years back, was hacked to death by unidentified assailants.
The incident took place at Vallikkad in Kozhikode district on Friday night. Chandrasekharan, 50, was riding a bike when he was attacked by the assailants.
The assailants first hurled country-made bombs at him and then hacked him when he fell off the motorcycle.
