RMP to elevate murdered leader's wife


KOZHIKODE: The Revolutionary Marxist Party, a breakaway faction of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has decided to entrust Rama, wife of its murdered leader T P Chandrasekharan, with more responsibilities.


Talking to newspersons, RMP Leader N Venu, who has been appointed as acting Onchiyam area secretary of the RMP, said it had decided at a recent meeting to utilize the services of  Remya for strengthening the party. A former state vice president and Central Committee Member of pro-CPI (M) Students Federation of India (SFI), Rama, also a bank employee, was very active in the party.


Meanwhile, a delegation of MLAs, representing the Left parties, except the Communist Party of India (CPI), today visited tense Onchiyam and surrounding localities, including Orkattery and Vallikkode in the district.
