Thycaud robbery: Police arrests main accused


Thursday, May 03, 2012: Four days after the broad daylight robbery at a house in the vicinity of the City Police Commissioner’s office at Thycaud in which valuables worth over Rs 21 lakh were stolen, police has arrested the main accused from a colony near All Saints college bus stand in Veli.
Anil Kumar of Vanchiyoor was arrested by a team of police when he was about to board a bus.
The burglary had taken place at the house of M Anil Kumar, a businessman residing near Thycaud Post office.
According to the complaint filed by Anil Kumar, gold ornaments worth 100 sovereigns and Rs 25,000 were stolen from his residence on Sunday.The theft happened in the afternoon when the family had gone to attend the post funeral rites of a relative.
When they returned, they saw that someone had broken into the house and all the articles inside the house were scattered.
